Awards and Citations
  In
a major breakthrough in quality management in the Philippines, the
Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) under the Ministry of International
Trade and Industry (MITI) has granted approval to Philippine Belt
Manufacturing Corporation the use of the famous JIS Mark on V-Belt
products manufactured and exported by Philbelt. This was granted
after extensive investigation and audit by inspectors of Japan's
MITI who came to the Philippines last October, 1991. They audited
not only product quality but, more importantly, management of quality
from top management to the plant employees.

This JIS Certification is in addition
to the previously granted Quality Standard Approval by the American
Petroleum Institute in September, 1989 to use their well-known API
Mark on Philbelt products.
